The smart pod technology is uniquely designed to work with our NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® machines and through our pressure system they deliver the perfect cup every time. Each variety has been designed through its internal components to work best, using the appropriate quantity of water, to deliver the optimal cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Here’s exactly how coffee pods work:
- Take your pod of choice and insert it into your coffee machine
- A needle then punches through the aroma seal
- Water will enter the capsule with a high amount of pressure and push through a membrane into the roasted coffee
- Finally, a plastic disc pokes through the aluminium foil below, delivering just the right amount of pressure
